LSU wins National Title, Burrow Shines

Heisman Trophy winner and projected #1 overall pick LSU QB Joe Burrow had a game for the ages in LSU’s National championship win last night over Clemson. Burrow, a transfer from Ohio State where he was a back up, capped off a historic season with another historic performance throwing for 463 yards and 5 Touchdowns and added another with his legs. Burrow’s 6 Touchdowns was yet another record, 1 of 4 he broke last night. He also now holds the record for most passing yards in a season, most TD’s responsible for in a season, and most yards in a national title game. Burrow looked sharp, crisp and most impressively accurate on the move. His main weapon WR Ja’marr Chase had a big night going for 9 catches 224 yards and 2 touchdowns. LSU’s defense shined, shutting out Clemson and QB Trevor Lawrence for the last 26 minutes of the game. Led by LB Patrick Queen, the defense hurried Lawrence forcing him out of the pocket and causing many many throws to be inaccurate and sailing over his targets heads. Lawrence threw for 243 yards but failed to throw for a touchdown, however did find the end zone with his legs on a 1 yard run in the first half. My biggest takeaway from this is how ready Joe Burrow looked to take the leap to the NFL, probably taking over the Cincinnati Bengals job as their next franchise quarterback. I cannot wait to see this kid in the league. He’s accurate, smart, and an absolute warrior. Congrats to the LSU Tigers on their historic season and historic title win!!!
